Battle Lake Public Schools

On November 11th, the Battle Lake School held their annual Veterans Day Program. The program began with the Presentation of the Colors. This year the special guest speakers were Retired United States Army Reserve Colonel Stan Carrigan, and the Voice of Democracy and Patriot's Pen Contest award presenter was Desiree Clark.The award winners for the Voice of Democracy was Izzy Brandborg, Aidan Heggem, and Matthew Brandborg. While Avery Dorn was the award winner for the Patriot's Pen. The Battle Lake High School band and choir performed many amazing pieces throughout the program, including the performance of Taps. The program concluded with the Retiring of the Colors. Today and every day we thank Veterans everywhere for their service to our country and fighting for our freedom!
