Battle Lake Public Schools

Battle Lake Speech season is coming to an end. We have had a fantastic season. Carsten Brandon in Ex. Speaking and Jack Robinson in Storytelling move on to the state tournament on April 25 in Shakopee. At the Sections meet, Junior Foster-Faaaliga was 4th in Prose , Nelson Hubert 4th and Max Mekalson 5th in discussion, Graycie Cameron was 5th in Ex. Speaking, Elijah Fronning and Erik Stans were 4th in Duo and Tegan Brandon and Ivy Fronning were 5th in Duo. Kate Scherfenberg was voted section 6A Coach of the Year. There are 21 teams in section 6A and we finished 4th at the Sections meet. We had eighteen speakers move on to sections. Section 6A has really strong competition. We are proud of the entire team, we had 19 speakers earn varsity letters, some had disappointing final competitions but all speakers grew and got better this season. We only have three seniors so we expect next year will bring great things too!
